Phoenix Wright is an odd duck of a series. It's basically a visual novel but has puzzle elements and a protagonist who's not in high school so western players don't run away screaming from it.

Phoenix Wright himself fits the comedy adventure game protagonist mold established by Roger Wilco and Guybrush Threepwood who's treated as a legend by any one who knows of their exploits, and as joke by anyone who knows them personally. Phoenix will always save his client and find the guilty party but you have to figure he spends a fortune on laundry bills given that flop sweat is practically his default expression.

I've never played, so I can't comment on it. I have played Professor Layton, though, and I love it. By the way, has anyone heard about the new one? Lady Layton? It stars Professor Layton's daughter, if I'm not mistaken.

I myself have also not played many Japanese games, but the only ones I have are fighting games. Ya'know, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 in Japanese. That basically was the first 5 years of my life, and then I got a DS Lite.

Oh hey, just as I finish writing two huge reviews on both the first PW:AA as well as AJ:AA, LVL30PSY comes out with an AA strip. That's quite the coincidence.

Although, the guy on the witness stand... Oh hey, it's the main character of MadWorld! But who's that prosecutor?

Did it happen to be written by Gary Jules?

Not that. The video game MadWorld for the Wii. A very stylish adult game on the Wii, from SEGA, where almost everything is in black and white, except for splashes of yellow and red.

Ah, I remember that. I was too young to play, so I never got the chance. Anyway, I was making a pun. Mad World, by Gary Jules. Used in the trailer for one of the Gears of War games, if memory serves.
