This is the third part of an arc,
click here to see the beginning if you missed it.
Sorry it's a tad late but my graphics program froze while I was nearly finished adding the text so I needed a hour or two off to scream at the ceiling.
Once again, we return to the Coffee shop, though this time we also get to see a little of a younger Gardevoir. I don't think alcohol appeared in the Pokemon games (besides that old man) but I can't imagine the Mons, especially one as lightly built as Gardevoir being able to hold it well.

Oh gosh, Panel 4 is amazing. XDDDD
Well, we're back at Brewster's, and we get a peek at Sims U. I love it when a series treats its universe like... well, its universe, and I feel this comic begins to move
Level 30 Psychiatry
in that direction.
2nd Mar 2014, 8:24 PM
I think maybe I made the makeup in panel 6 too transparent,
but when it was less transparent it kinda looked weird.
And that's all I really have to say about that.

So she can speak Simlish too?
2nd Mar 2014, 8:39 PM
Considering she was majoring in video game psychiatry, she probably needed to learn many languages.
I can imagine it was difficult learning the Banjo-Kazooie dictionary.
2nd Mar 2014, 10:14 PM
Nah, that's easy. Just read the subtitles.
3rd Mar 2014, 5:11 AM
Hidden ability: Telepathy.
4th Mar 2014, 12:04 AM
Speaking the language, on the other hand, is a whole different ballgame. One babble out of place can make the difference between "You're a sick duck," and "You're a d..."
2nd Mar 2014, 11:34 PM
Gardevoir, I choose me!
3rd Mar 2014, 3:42 AM
The best part is how Brewster just watches her fall, as if this were nothing new.
3rd Mar 2014, 4:35 AM
So does she still have the ribbons?
3rd Mar 2014, 8:29 AM
@ Alt Text: Why not? All she would have had done is actually had a conversation with the Judges, tell them that she's studying Psychology, and then prove that she's a Pokemon, and she would have been in good stead to win a Smart Contest.
3rd Mar 2014, 9:52 AM
3rd Mar 2014, 10:47 AM
Well, she IS a light weight. Since she's still functional enough to "operate", she's still functional enough to talk and use Psychic. At worst, using the Pokemon Game Mechanics, I suspect that drunkeness would be like being confused, you have a chance to screw up and hurt yourself.
*So says the person who's never drunk any booze in their life.*
4th Mar 2014, 1:08 PM
Except, judging by the stone in her tiara, she won a cool contest. Smart contests use green motifs.
Hrm - Shock wave, Thunderbolt, Thunder, and Destiny Bond for a last round finish... Gardevoir's sizable movepool would make her an all-around contest expert, wouldn't it?
4th Mar 2014, 2:12 PM
I just googled master rank pokemon contest and based the color scheme off the first thing I saw.
6th Mar 2014, 9:11 AM
@ Lektio: If we assume that she's limited to four moves (like in the games), we know three of the ones she CURRENTLY has:
1. Future Sight (mentioned when talking to Doc. Robotnik)
2. Psychic (used on Infernape)
3.Protect (used when the Creeper exploded).
That's two Smart moves and a Cute one. What was that about the Doc's movepool?
7th Mar 2014, 7:11 AM
That Future Sight comment was
ambiguous, and I believe Guybrush is working off the flexible anime interpretation of Psychic which can also create force fields. So only one of those is undoubtedly correct.
8th Mar 2014, 5:38 PM
Very well, Darius. I shall elaborate.
A movepool is different from a moveset. The moveset is the four moves a pokémon currently has, the movepool is the complete list of moves that a given pokémon can know.
When I said that Gardevoir's movepool would make it a contest expert, I was referring to the wide range of moves a Gardevoir can learn. Three of the moves I listed are TMs, and the other is level-up, and considering that the flashback was on a college campus, I doubt it would have been too hard to find a move tutor to change which moves she knew.
Furthermore, given the now-unbreakable nature of TMs, it wouldn't surprise me if pokémon kept several on hand to switch out moves when convenient.
12th Aug 2014, 8:52 PM
Audino actually says her move set in comic 33 (to the point). It's a bit covered up but it says psychic, hypnosis, thunderbolt, and healing wish.
Healing wish has the ish covered up.
3rd Mar 2014, 9:07 AM
Hm I'm guessing she also won the lower contest as well since you can't even enter masters without doing that. Wonder if she has a painting of herself somewhere considering I recall if one did win a master contest they get a painting in a musuem.
3rd Mar 2014, 1:16 PM
...Wait a second. If Gardevoir took psychiatry classes so she could practice psychiatry at the hospital, doesn't that mean that there should have been other students in those classes? Then, why is Gardevoir apparently the only psychiatrist?
3rd Mar 2014, 1:50 PM
Maybe we'll find out in due time. I'm guessing most dropped out or got a job that didn't mean sitting in the same room as Kratos.
3rd Mar 2014, 5:44 PM
That, or many video game psychiatrists only work for protagonists, NPCs and lowly enemies, and refuse to give any psychiatric help to bosses and other large villains. There are other possible explanations.
help i'm crazy
5th Mar 2014, 2:23 AM
she gave help to bowser and eggman

Why do I feel like this is one of the most in-depth discussions about a comic character I've seen?

CAUSE YOUR NAME IS DAR!
10th Mar 2014, 8:16 PM
I don't get what my name has to do with it but okay c:
10th Mar 2014, 10:10 PM
Dar is the Spanish verb of to give.
And dé is the command conjugation.
So nos dé means give us, and it's probably easy to figure out the rest of that sentence.
8th Mar 2014, 1:17 AM
Found this comic yesterday and stayed until 3 in the morning reading it until I finished it. This is going into my feed reader. Very good one, and I love that most videogame jokes are of Nintendo characters (pretty much the only ones I know).
9th Mar 2014, 2:54 PM
Thanks, man! Glad to know we're worth staying up 'til 3 AM for! ^_^
8th Mar 2014, 6:05 AM
wonder of Dawn will try catching her. (and get arrested)
8th Mar 2014, 11:37 PM
*in a slow and creepy voice*
27th Apr 2014, 11:12 AM
That's not just Dawn falling out of the chair in panel 4, is it? Is Infernape knocking her out of it? Or is she falling on top of him?
(Getting a little confused by Infernape's arm being in the shot)
