Well we're all desperately tired so I can't stick around to say much. Gardevoir may have found a way to shut Ellis up by accident but is it worth the cost?
Brawl in the Family announced today that they're going to finish soon. I met Giga, Box and Dry Kirby there as well as laying the grounds for the comic to begin with. It will be missed. *sniff*
Guys, I didn't touch this, but it's still my quality, Giga's slowly been draining my abilities like a vampiric Mega Man, soon they'll replace me with a robot and I'll be broke and out of the job!
That or I was never that good to begin with.
One of the two.
Don't worry Box. Giga had to pull an all nighter to do the art plus the coloring. Unless we want L3PN-002 to get a fatal malfunction L3PN-003 still has a purpose. (that's you)
Box, I literally did not get any sleep working on this thing, and I didn't even shade. You've nailed down the efficiency of the process, and you save me and the other artists half a dozen hours every week. You complete us. <3
Anyways, since I did the coloring, I got to choose the color of the new couch! Indigo, baby! How long will its regimental majesty last?
Giga's really improved over the past two years of LVL30PSY. If you compare Ellis in Comic 1 - The Doctor is In, to him in Comic 29 - Keith's Boomer Encounter, and then to this, you can definitely see the details escalating, especiallly on his shirt. It's fantastic.
That kind of joke's been done. A lot. This rendition is funny for how exaggeraed Ellis' face becomes by the end, but the core joke is nothing that new.
As an example, one Sonic Shorts episode has Sonic and Shadow finding that sort of thing on Internet... with the exact response you'd expect.
Actually, I like the fact that there's in-comic continuity about this comic. On the FIRST PAGE there's the "If your name is Ellis and you just want to ramble about your buddy Keith" line.
It turns that from a throwaway joke to something that the Doc's been dealing with on a regular basis for a while now.
I am now compelled to relate why I like troping. It's interesting to see how many works use the same tropes, over and over, but without outright copying them. Instead, new spins are placed that make the tropes interesting again.
That 'there's porn of us' gag has been done to death. It's so damn cliche that it's no longer funny. But this comic put a new spin on the gag, for one actually providing a funny-on-its-own reason for the trawl, and the way the reaction is actually done. I don't think I've ever seen tears of blood in that situation before.
Well done, guys. Very well done. This is exactly the thing to do with cliches.

Yeah... I'll miss Brawl in the Family too.
By the way, I'd have two ideas for future pages, can I send them to you in a Private Message?

As for Brawl in the Family...I'm going to miss it too. At least I'll have gaming webcomics like this one to read, but it's still sad to see it go.

By seeing too much of themselves in porn.
Same characters...
...Totally different renditions of them. In about the most awesome evolution possible.
