Well it's been three weeks. If you are still checking this comic every day to see if something happens this I love you and your face. *hug* Giga had a LOT of stuff going down but I'll leave it up to him if he wants to talk about it. We love working on this thing but that strange reality thing that hurts you even when you ignore it must come first.

So what's new?
* Rayman in Smash but then again not.
* Pokemon Free-to-play is competent but everything wrong with the model
* I finally completed Spyro 3, finally got a Platinum trophy (albeit in a Lego game) and completed all three Kalos Pokedexes.

So why's Roll having a semi-literal breakdown? Stick around to find out. And we promise it won't take three weeks this time ;)

Also If you don't want another complete drought and can wield a pencil better than me then you can consider making a guest comic. We've already had a few takers but a couple more couldn't hurt.

My deepest apologies. I've definitely hit one of life's troughs. (_ _ ;)

The Rayman/Mii hands are a shortcut meant to save time without sacrificing body language. One of the more difficult parts of drawing a character is making sure the arms maintain proper anatomy while still communicating emotion, so this helps in a pinch. (Basically, this took me 9 hours instead of 11.) This is also the reasoning behind using existing sprite art instead of drawing background figures.

Hopefully, I'll be able to reign in my reality and return to more capable artwork. But if not, I hope this doesn't offend anyone too much.

I'm... not exactly sure what to say.

The comic's been going through a bit a rough patch for the past two months or so, and we all apologize for that. We're trying the best we can to keep a steady schedule, whether it's guest comics or (admittedly really cool-looking) Raymanian hands. Thank you all for your constant support. As Guybrush said, we promise that the comics to come won't be so delayed.

It actually feels a bit odd now, the Raymanian/Mii limbs for the characters... other than that, still as funny as ever. (And hey, it's far better than anything I'd accomplish, so who am I to critique the art in a webcomic?)
Koopario edit delete reply
Whenever I feel like the comedy of the Mii hands isn't enough to justify the simplicity, I just think of the reaction to DryKirby's acknowledgement of them.
And whenever that happens I remember arms can be seriously overdetailled in games and therefore must be done in this comic.
That is, until you come up with floating Mii hands.

I kinda like the Mii-Man hands. They look cool.

Hi guys been reading for along time :-) Just keeps getting better and better

Actually I check this webcomic multiple times a day.

I like how Erika and Ephraim are fighting a giant reaper thing in the background, its always the little background events you guys put in that make me smile :)

Actually, I think they're fighting Arakune.
Darius Drake (Guest) edit delete reply
Yep, Arakune. I wonder what they did to piss him off. He's normally just in his chair, seemingly hoping to get an appointment to see Gardeviour. I suspect that one of them sat on him.
Koopario edit delete reply
Funnily enough, I just noticed them before actually reading the comment.
Altoclarinetist edit delete reply
I hadn't actually paid attention to that. Thanks for pointing out good stuff like that. I imagine being sat on is less comfortable if the sitter is wearing armor and weapons.

Do we finally get to see Mega Man in this comic? Yay!
Darius Drake (Guest) edit delete reply
Nah, that's still Protoman. I think she's upset because DLN-002 (or Rock) was taken apart to build MM-000 (or Megaman). Either that, or when Megaman uses a "Life" in the game world, it counts as a new member of the DLN Series.

i dont get how the hands change from Rayman-Mii hands (panels 1 and 2) change to normal ones (3 and 4), Detach again (5) Then Normal again (6) and finally Drop off again

the same way that characters go from one style to another every other comic, the same way that characters go from chibi to cartoon-y to hyperrealistic from panel to panel, or how characters can lose their entire torsos in some panels,

which is to say you might be overthinking things.
Guybrush20X6 edit delete reply
I actually worked an explanation for that right into the comic in this old one.

Great job, everyone from BitF is migrating here.

Actually, I'm not sure that thats a bad thing. At least you have more readers!

As for the comic, I like how you integrated canon into the story. I think the Mii-hands actually look pretty cute.

And on a side note, we going to get more sprite comics? I liked those, and I KNOW you guys still have hiatuses, so they would still make sense.
DryKirby64 edit delete reply
We'll do sprite comics once we decide what my 8-bit sprites should be. Probably.

When was the last sprite comic, anyway? It was something about Civilization V, wasn't it? I don't even remember the comic number, honestly.

Edit: Comic 68, "Get Equipped With: Hype" is what I was looking for. That was before even 404 came along. Yikes.
T110181 edit delete reply
wow that was a long time ago, honestly i have forgotten about it.

Protoman or Megaman with fire powers?
DryKirby64 edit delete reply
That's Proto, yeah. You'll find out where Mega is soon enough.
Hurricane edit delete reply
Poor Roll. I don't know much about the Mega Man series so I'm not quite sure what's happening, but it definitely seems like she's remembering something sad.

On a lighter note, I recently got a Gardevoir named Doc! (after the good doctor herself :D)
