Now that Tell tale games found a new formula with
The Walking Dead
it seems the old adventure game logic trope is now gone back to rest. It's no longer "use PIE on YETI" but now "let the pregnant woman die or let the young girl and her puppy die".
Am I an uncultured swine for preferring the old way?
Speaking of old ways, FREE THE MODS! Game mods that is, not forum mods. They can keep working in their little cages.

Not much to say about this one.
Mario Kart 8's
200cc DLC came out on Thursday and it's insane. I drew this in-between crashing into walls and zooming over ramps. That's what Kuma's reading there, I guess.
26th Apr 2015, 8:57 PM
*sigh* I gave
a shot. I really did. I watched a walkthrough of the entire first game, start to finish. I'm sorry, but I just don't understand the hype. The writing was hollow and unsatisfying, the gameplay was inferior to
's, and the whole thing felt like the product of focus group testing. And to rub it in, they kept killing off all the characters I actually liked. Can anyone explain this series' appeal to me?
26th Apr 2015, 9:21 PM
I think it's just the concept of Ace Attorney meets Battle Royale that makes it so popular.
Of course I don't entirely know, I only ever watched the anime, but I did particularly like what they did with Chihiro and Sakura's personal arcs.
26th Apr 2015, 10:42 PM
For the record, I haven't played
at all. Most of my Skype group has, so I know a little bit about the game by association. When I read the script, I thought it was talking about Monokuma at first, but Guybrush clarified that Kuma is, in fact, a
character. So I threw Monokuma in there anyway as a little joke. Chances are he'd really need psychiatry anyway.

As far as we know, it seems to have worked; Wilco came back alive, right?
26th Apr 2015, 3:22 PM
I think that's what infuriates Black Mage the most.
26th Apr 2015, 3:34 PM
Everybody Hates Wilco.
26th Apr 2015, 4:05 PM
Can't argue with results.
27th Apr 2015, 12:19 PM
Wilco, Kuma won't hurt you. He's the sparring partner of the man next to him. You're FAR too weak and fragile.
...unless the way that Kuma decides if his opponent is fight worthy is how many times they've "died". Heihachi Mishima is believed dead at least twice. (I checked the Wiki on him, I count a minimum of 3 "near deaths", one of which had him miss an instalment of the series due to being unconcious).
Of course, there's also the minor question of whether this is Kuma I or Kuma II (their basically the same character, but one's from the first two games, and the seconds for all the following games). Actually, that could be the reason Kuma's there, to work out if he's the the father of the other one, or the son.
28th Apr 2015, 10:35 PM
I'll be more worried about the black and white bear next to Kuma. He is looking straight at you!
26th Apr 2015, 3:41 PM
Definitely the other bear you should be worried about. Heihachi and Kuma don't fight weaklings who do not wish to battle. (Often, both conditions must be true.)
28th Apr 2015, 10:36 PM
Well Monokuma does appear to be looking right at Roger Wilco.
29th Apr 2015, 2:49 AM
I was actually trying to make him look over Kuma's shoulder as if he's trying to read the magazine, but... eh.
29th Apr 2015, 12:42 PM
He wanted to know if there were any despair filled stories in the magazine Kuma is reading.
26th Apr 2015, 5:09 PM
I wasn't expecting there to be a Dangaronpa cameo. But yes Monokuma there is the one you need to worry about. If he asks you for a job as a janitor at his school don't take it!
26th Apr 2015, 9:01 PM
You must've overlooked
our first one
, then. ;)
27th Apr 2015, 2:32 AM
And now, everyone will be hunting down that little cameo...
Speaking of cameos, HOW IN THE HEAVENLY NAME OF TENSHI HINANAWI HAVE YOU GUYS NOT MADE A TOUHOU CAMEO?!??!
27th Apr 2015, 4:37 AM
We should have Sakuya fighting Avery in the background of a panel eventually.
If anyone can decode that reference I applaud you.
27th Apr 2015, 6:19 PM
Gotcha covered! Roll cosplays as Marisa in
the Halloween strip.
28th Apr 2015, 12:35 AM
I... feel so fanon-Cirno right now...
28th Apr 2015, 5:49 PM
You had to go with the most generic of the Touhou girls. Even Sakuya stands more out, and she's a maid (OK, the knives help, but still), or at least include the Hakkero where it's visible (It's her signature item, the only thing that distinguishes her from any other blond western style witch). :P
Yes I'm a sore loser about missing a Touhou reference when I usually sniff them from a mile away, deal with it! :P
28th Apr 2015, 11:17 PM
Guybrush's script called for Roll in a generic witch costume, so funnily enough your gripes were actually the criteria for selection.
3rd May 2015, 7:29 AM
I WAS RIGHT! :D
26th Apr 2015, 5:40 PM
I thought you were supposed to stand your ground and yell, to convince them that you're not worth the effort to fight.
Not that Roger has the courage for that, of course.
26th Apr 2015, 5:59 PM
Not against Kuma you don't.
26th Apr 2015, 9:56 PM
I think you missed a "be" in Wilco's last bubble...
27th Apr 2015, 5:34 PM
The Bears... NEVER provoke the Bears.
Also, it's plain obvious the Tree is from Animal Crossing. As I said, those little details always made things better.
28th Apr 2015, 4:00 AM
I just got the title. Can't stop laughing.
Also I just love the art here as well. It just looks especially great, notably on Black Mage.
28th Apr 2015, 6:31 PM
Thank you! It means a lot to us, and to myself especially! ^^
28th Apr 2015, 2:57 PM
On a quick second look on this strip... Is that Vargas from FFVI next to the bear? If I recall, he had bears to aid him in that battle. He does look more like a Streetfighter character, but if it's him, it would be funny, lol.
28th Apr 2015, 5:07 PM
That's Heihachi from Tekken. And the bear next to him is his pet, Kuma. Who is also a fighter in Tekken.
29th Apr 2015, 12:41 PM
Besides I am pretty sure Vargas is dead.
29th Apr 2015, 2:15 PM
When does being dead has been an inconvenient to not appear in the comic?
(sees the Megaman arc again)
30th Apr 2015, 1:38 AM
Your forgetting Vargas was an evil RPG boss. And all evil RPG bosses die.
10th Oct 2015, 12:24 AM
Super late comment, but i noticed that there seems to be a waiting room without arakune...
10th Oct 2015, 4:57 AM
Arakune is off-panel. Probably. I didn't forget to draw him, I promise. He's always there. Even when you think he's not.
16th Apr 2016, 1:41 PM
3rd panel to BE completely safe.
