There was debate on whether to have this one with or without speech bubbles. In the end we put Mario's dialogue in the title.

Mario himself shows how odd games are compared to other medium. Games have to make sense to the ones interacting with them, but not from a story standpoint. Why is the greatest video game hero of all time a mustachioed plumber? How can he jump so high? How can he smash bricks with his head? Why does Bowser never stop fighting him on bridges?

All make sense from a game design perspective, whereas in-universe... Mushroom Kingdom is whimsical and let's leave it at that.

Ditto to GB. As for Zerix26's question, I've been asking that for fifteen years or more now.

I've had a busy week last week. Always something on the calendar.
(GB, it's a little hard to tell, but if you look closely, he hits it with his fist.)

And why does Peach not create an army of Toads with Fire Flowers to protect herself against Bowser's numerous attacks?

Or better yet, keep a star on hand and touch him when he shows up in the Castle.

Very interesting, indeed.

Well, he usually breaks the bricks with his fist, but that also has to hurt.

P.S. White Mage's hoodie is awesome.

Seen this joke many times before. Aint anything special anymore tbh. I like how you kept consistency with White Mage tho. She indeed got a (awefully similar to normal outfit) sports gear for the ambulance. Props on that.

Overall... not amused. I feel there was a lack of inspiration on this comic. Guess it happens now and then. Hope is better next time.

I like how the single panel starts with an angry citizen, which then pans down to WM with her unamused expression and then reveals Mario.
And I did note that Mario supposedly breaks blocks with his fist. My idea to make this work, though, is that Mario thought "Oh! That's a big-a block!" and then jumped extra hard; hard enough so that both his head and hand were injured.
But the comic's decent enough without setup, I feel.

Mr pretentious cant even get rid, thinking Mario hits blocks with his head.

But I have to admit I prefer the single panel. Brevity is wit.

You know, sometimes they say he's breaking them with his fist, bot on the other hand, in super mario 64 he'd take damage from hitting a block without his hat on.

Actually, I always used to think Mario hitted blocks with his head all the time. I even used to think Mario spitted fireballs from his mouth rather than prouducing it from his hands. Lets blame Nintendo's animation.

On that note, the several times I have already seen this joke before all have Mario ending with a concussion too, so Im sure most people also believe or believed that is how Mario always broke the blocks. Nintendo should had gone with that.

As for Mario 64 mentioned previously, if you hit a block on a second jump, ypu technically hit it with his head. So is at least partially true there. Same with any 3D Mario actually.
