Slaking is basically the poster 'mon for the detrimental ability. It's got base stats on par of Groudon and Kyogre but it gives away every second turn. It is possible to work around but it only really works in double battles. And it's certainly not good for when you're paying by the hour.

There's a new Nintendo Indies Direct tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see what series goes portable next.

Slaking at least learns Retaliate, so you can give it a Choice Scarf, bring it after something dies and deal ridiculous damage. It's pretty good on Random Battles.

Regigigas is the sad one, though. It has to be a sitting duck for 5 turns before it starts doing things, and those things aren't even great.

Actually, there might be a way to work around Slaking’s ability. Send in Yamask or Cofagrigus first, let it spread the Mummy ability to the opponent, send out Slaking, attack to give it Mummy, and BOOM! You’ve got a bandaged sloth of doom!

I was thinking something more along the lines of Simple Beam
TheCopyUniverse (Guest) edit delete reply
Simple Beam doesn't work on Pokémon with Truant, sadly.

I find this funny since I love Slaking.
Though his change when evolving shocked me. Twice.

So, doctor's ability is not trace? It would have been funnier if she got affected by slaking Haha.
WillOfTheWinds (Guest) edit delete reply
I mean, I'd assume that she would have to fight him for it to be activated.

Trace: Allowing you to Be Lazy while Claiming It's not your fault...

Really, in a single battle, your best option is usually Giga Impact.

Personally I’m just surprised he didn’t break the chair, I know snorlax or Arceus forbid groudon would wreck that thing, how heavy is slacking again?

Slaking weighs 287,7 pounds, so basically the same as an overweight person, the couch would handle him with ease
