Well, you've asked for it, so here's your Christmas present: Mega Gardevoir. But would that be Mega Dr. Gardevoir or Dr. Mega Gardevoir?
Anyway, the vote for which Call to have in Mighty No. 9 has gone live but I was torn, vote for Call F to keep that comic we made way back then relevant, or vote for the one I liked and leave it to the ages? In the end I went with Call E. I guess I'm a sucker for hats.
Anyway, Happy Holidays y'all and sorry this was late. Communication breakdown.

Box has gone MIA, so I took up coloring duties this week.
I also love 404's sillier take on Roll. Those facial expressions are priceless! ^_^
What'ch'all gettin' fo' X'mas? I'm pickin' up a coo' new lapto'.
23rd Dec 2013, 6:01 PM
MIA more like Making It Actuallyhappen
I commented about my reasons.
I'm working on it.
It'll be done I promise.
23rd Dec 2013, 9:14 PM
I had a lot of fun drawing Mega Gardevoir!
As for why I drew Roll like I did...I thought it was funny at the time. :|
For Christmas: My mom gets Star Trek socks (she loves socks, weirdo.), my dad gets Dalek and Tardis stress toys, my sister gets an Adipose plushy, my brother gets a diamond pickaxe, and my other brother gets a USB SNES controller.
23rd Dec 2013, 10:17 PM
Wow, Roll really goes the distance. Ultimately I don't think I'll be using that Gardevoirite much. I don't battle and I don't have any Normal attacks that do damage. I suppose there's the off chance I run into a patient that will only speak to women in wedding dresses. Would hardly surprise me at this point.

You were right, this was worth waiting for, but what's with the new art style? Roll is kinda freaking me out... Please tell me this isn't permanent. Also, your geting dangerously close to 100 comics...
23rd Dec 2013, 6:41 PM
*looks at the description and sees that GigaNerd did the art*
*feels like an idiot*
23rd Dec 2013, 7:21 PM
'Migo, when you've got two line artists on a project, there's inevitably gonna be differences in how we portray the characters. Embrace the differences rather than disparage them. ;D
23rd Dec 2013, 9:23 PM
Yeah, I didn't do so good on Roll today. Sorry. I'll try to do better on her next time.
24th Dec 2013, 12:09 AM
*reads the response to earlier comment*
*feels like a bigger idiot*
Yep, I'm really stupid today!
23rd Apr 2014, 11:25 PM
So I'm the only one here who thought Roll was cute in this one?
23rd Dec 2013, 6:42 PM
I love how the sweater just flies off screen.
23rd Dec 2013, 7:28 PM
You can't hold other items during Mega Evolution. ;P
23rd Dec 2013, 9:35 PM
Huh, really? I haven't played X/Y yet, so I had no idea. I just thought it would be funny.
23rd Dec 2013, 11:46 PM
Yeah, the mega stone itself is a held item.
17th Jan 2014, 8:29 PM
game logic is hilarious
23rd Dec 2013, 6:53 PM
I never have quite understood what that egg thing is for in mega evolution.
23rd Dec 2013, 7:14 PM
It's a way to hide the model while they change it out for the mega's one.
21st Feb 2014, 12:46 PM
onix is at peace with stone evolution
23rd Dec 2013, 7:31 PM
In-universe, it's also symbolic of the mystical relationship between Pokémon and stones. You can evolve with stones, you can Mega Evolve with stones... why not just
23rd Dec 2013, 7:36 PM
Giga, that is why we have Probopass and Exeggcute. Oh wait, Exeggcute are eggs, dangit! Thats what happens when you play too much Pokemon Crystal
23rd Dec 2013, 7:39 PM
Now that I think of it, this gift isn't the most useful one; Dr. Gardevoir doesn't have to fight that much in her job.
23rd Dec 2013, 9:22 PM
I deleted a comment disparaging 404's art but to answer the question (or demand) given in it, Giga can't make a comic a week like he used to, it's this or biweekly. And I like 404's art. Smaller heads but whackier faces.
23rd Dec 2013, 11:41 PM
Wacky faces are fun, all who disagree will be flogged.
24th Dec 2013, 12:16 AM
Hey Guybrush, are you still mad at me for not knowing about your Britishness?
24th Dec 2013, 12:47 AM
Nope. I have stupid 3000 word reports on advanced statistics over the bleeding Christmas Holidays taking up all available anger.
*silently gnashes teeth*
24th Dec 2013, 6:05 AM
I haven't gotten my hands on a copy of x/y yet. Does Gardevior have a mega evolution?
24th Dec 2013, 3:31 PM
But you can only get it post story, unless you get the Gardevoirite traded or something.
21st Feb 2014, 12:46 PM
24th Dec 2013, 11:31 AM
Reminds me I really have to ev train that ralts I gone through the trouble of breeding, hm be kind of sureal if dr.gardevoir had a patient that was another gardevoir. Hm I wonder if gardevoir was wild, or had a trainer, or maybe was just one in seven hundred ralts that were abandoned when guy trying to use mesuda method to hatch a shiny, her mother being a japenese ralts and a ditto.
24th Dec 2013, 5:06 PM
how about the male evolve form of the ralts family appearing one day and falling in love with gardevior and roll saying something about all ready having a wedding dress?
25th Dec 2013, 12:36 AM
Just a personal thought, but I don't think we need romance just yet in this comic.
24th Dec 2013, 11:26 PM
Probably a bad suggestion, but the next comic should have them cleaning up the Christmas party, the Black Mage guy messes up and the janitor dies.
(I like that last part)
28th Dec 2013, 9:28 AM
About what Gardevoir said...
Roll said your Mega Evolution gave a boost to your SPECIAL attack stat. I'm pretty sure most, if not all, special attacks don't require direct contact. Most Normal Type attacks are actually requiring direct contact. So if you know Hypnosis, and you can levitate objects, wouldn't that mean you know Psychic and could therefore make use of the Special Attack boost?
Also, I'm pretty sure she missed something important...
SHE'S BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
28th Dec 2013, 9:59 PM
Actually, Gardevoir is talking about the Mega Evolution's ability "Pixilate", which turns Normal Type Moves into Fairy Type Moves.
Also, I'm not so sure about how she's supposed to be breaking the fourth wall. Can you please explain that to me?
28th Dec 2013, 10:08 PM
...and I only noticed that I wasn't commenting on most of what you were talking about ten seconds after posting. *Sighs*
Anyway, two questions for you, Koopario:
1. When does Doctor Gardevoir need to attack/hurt anyone? Because the less she needs to do so, the less use she'll get out of the boost.
2. Actually, wouldn't the Special Defence boost benefit our good Doctor more? It'll likely reinforce her mind, and, even with the experience she's gotten, there'll probably be times when she'll prefer to be more mentally grounded than she normally is.
29th Dec 2013, 4:22 AM
A lot of times, characters in a comic don't directly comment on it or simply the fact that there are people watching them at all times. Remember that these are fictional characters and most fictional characters don't know we're watching a rerun of their lives or reading about their experiences.
Then there are some people who can sense the existence of an audience.
When somebody addresses the audience or simply hints at the fact that there is one, that's breaking the fourth wall.
Gardevoir broke the fourth wall by commenting on this comic. She shouldn't even know there was a place where she could do that--in fact, I think that's her alternate persona's job. That one broke the fourth wall in her second appearance.
There's actually a complete section on this very topic on TVTropes.
As for the other one, I was focusing on Special ATTACK, not Special Defense, though you are right. And Fairy-type altered or no, Normal-type attacks require direct contact almost as much as Fighting-types.
29th Dec 2013, 6:28 AM
she doesn't ever acknowledge that she's in a comic or that there's an audience.
That's a nice definition of a fourth wall break but what line in particular are you referring to because I'm confused as well.
29th Dec 2013, 4:24 AM
Also, there is the off chance she'll be forced to fight. Just saying.
